The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association's One Health Committee will host two Tick ID workshops for veterinarians in early November as part of our ongoing work in keeping our members fully updated on the expanding One Health topic of vector-borne diseases. Both Lyme Disease and anaplasmosis are on the rise in Vermont, and it is important for veterinarians to be able to educate animal owners about these and other vector-borne diseases.

The 9th Annual Cornell University One Health Symposium will occur November 16th-17th, 2018. This year’s theme is One Health: Where do YOU fit? The event will include a series of 9 lecturers in topics encompassing aspects of One Health, Public Health, Global Health, Environmental Health, Human Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, there will be a research poster session featuring One Health-related research and an interdisciplinary group One Health laboratory session. Abstracts are being accepted until October 15th for the poster session.
